Crash when trying to install magic

I am on an older desktop, XP (not sure on the SP, at least 2).
Had to install the .net framework to get OCTGN (0.7.2) installed, did that, installed fine. Downloaded torrent that is linked to elsewhere, with Magic v.0.0.2.8 and all the cards. OCTGN loads fine, but when I click install game and select the magic file and click open, an unexpected error occurs! and the game crashes. I’ve tried rebooting twice, and deleting/letting octgn recreate the master file, no luck. Here is the error:
