Here’s an idea, when a player doesn’t have a particular set installed, instead of showing the blank ? card, OCTGN should try to search its database for a card with the exact same name, and show that instead.

The reasoning behind this, for a game like MTG, a lot of cases of a player missing a card would be due to the other player having a promo/reprint version of that card in their deck, or if that player uses some of the more obscure lands. This feature would effectively eliminate the need for a player to have every single promo set installed just in case their opponent happens to like playing with promo versions.

Perhaps show the card’s image but fade it and put a ? in front of it, to indicate to that player that “this card ID is not in the database, here is the closest match”
