Crash on start-up

OCTGN crashes on start up particularly when it checks for updates to OCTGN itself. I am not sure what caused this problem. Initially it crashed in the middle of using the deck editor but now it simply won’t even start. When it crashes I get the message, “Something unexpected happened. We will now shut down OCTGN. If this continues to happen please let us know!”
That’s the information I have on the issue. Any help or fix would be appreciated.
